Jujitsu Martial Arts and Self Defense Classes in Long Beach (ages 13 and up)
Learn the art of Japanese Jujitsu used by samurai warriors in feudal Japan. Where the use of weapons was impractical or forbidden, the most efficient methods for
neutralizing an enemy took the form of arm bars, joint locks, chokes, pins, and throws. Our style of Jujitsu is the Danzan Ryu system of Japanese Jujitsu founded and
developed by Professor Henry S. Okazaki. Jujitsu is a Japanese martial art of ancient origin emphasizing techniques of self defense which do not harm the attacker.
Jujitsu students learn throwing techniques, escapes from holds, joint locks, arm bars, chokes, wrist twists, ground work, and applying holds to control a larger and stronger opponent.
Through the process of learning self defense techniques, our students develop strength and increase endurance. A practitioner of jujitsu is called a jujitsuka (one who studies jujitsu).
You will practice your techniques with a partner and a Jujitsu black belt instructor who will guide and assist you though the process of learning self defense.
We group our students by rank, focusing on the techniques that are appropriate for your skill level. Our adult Long Beach Jujitsu class is designed for men and women ages 13 and up.
Jujitsu class is specifically designed for boys and girls ages 6 to 12.
